In several years as a listener, I've never taken time to review a book, but this one deserves to be recommended. I've studied Italian for several years as a hobby, and this is the best resource I've seen to get you to actually practice. The rhythm motivates you to speak along with the teacher. I don't know if it would be as useful to someone with no basic knowledge of the language, but it is excellent for practical usage once you've got the basics. Most audios do not motivate you to speak out loud back to them, which is really the only way to get good at it. I've listened to it over and over, as well as Volume 3 which is also excellent.
